Perhaps you've gotten one - a mysterious email titled, "Final Notice Regarding Your In-Store Credit". Excuse me?!?!?! What credit? What's this all about and how did they get my email address? Truth is, one of our competitors thinks that gaining your email by less than above board methods is OK if they also make up a fictional In-Store Credit for you.
If you have ever visited any of their multitude of websites, whether you bought anything or not, they have "captured" your email address, by surreptitious methods using special software, and are using it as if you had opted-in to their mailing list. Then you get the email, trying to pull you back in and get you to buy something and use the fictitious credit. Sounds like scum-bag marketing to us.
We at Watson's StreetWorks don't do stuff like that. We don't even think of things that invade your privacy, steal your personal email address or in-any-way might be detrimental to you, misrepresent ourselves or affect our relationship. Friends don't treat friends like that, and we consider each and every one of our customers as friends.
So, if and when you get "the email" - don't be surprised. It's how some companies treat their customers and it's a reflection of how little they think of you.
